2008 Season

Postgame Report

This was probably Favre's last game.

With a slim chance of making the postseason, the Jets finished their season as many fans feared – with an ugly effort against a Dolphins team that made more plays than we did.

The team continued its lackluster play that has plagued it for over a month and now heads into the off-season with huge questions looming over this franchise.

The status of two of the most important figures, the head coach and the starting QB, remain uncertain as Woody Johnson and Mike Tannenbaum will have their work cut out for them in the coming weeks as they try to figure out the direction of this franchise.

Chad would like nothing more than to ruin the Jets' season.

How great would this game be if the Jets were playing good football?  Chad Pennington comes back to the Meadowlands looking for revenge from the team that released him while the Jets are looking to propel themselves into the playoffs with a solid win.

Jets fans breathed a collective sigh of relief on Sunday when, in a rare showing of late-game heroics, the team claimed victory when defeat seemed all but certain.  Was this a turning point for a franchise that is usually on the losing end of such dramatic plays?  Probably not.

The Jets were lucky to escape with a win and they will have to play better football to have any chance of making the playoffs.

Postgame Report

Ellis (along with Elam) saved the day.

The Jets are still alive!

With their emotional win over Buffalo, the Jets assured themselves another week of meaningful football.  Had they lost, which was all but certain with two minutes remaining, they would have dropped to second place in their division and faced an uphill battle for a wildcard spot.

With the win they still control their own destiny.   If they can win their remaining games, they hold the tiebreakers over Miami and New England and will win the AFC East title.
