2011 Prospect
DE, Cal
6-4, 285, 4.8-40
Projection: 1st round
Jordan projects to go toward the middle of the first round so it is doubtful the Jets will get a shot at him unless they trade up. He is best suited as a 3-4 DE but is versatile enough to play the 4-3, which is why he is drawing interest from so many teams.

2011 Prospect
OLB, Arizona
6-3, 265, 4.7-40
Projection: 3rd round
Reed is an undersized linebacker with limited athleticism but has a non-stop motor and is an excellent pass rusher and that will be his ticket to the NFL. He is not very strong and gets pushed around by blockers in the run game so he will have to start out as a situational pass rusher until he can add bulk and become a 3-down player.

2011 Prospect
DE, Temple
6-5, 305, 5.1-40
Projection: 1st round
This guy is shooting up draft boards. Along with Phil Taylor, he is one of the likelier prospects the Jets will draft. A junior entry, Wilkerson is not well known yet but as we get closer to the draft, he will be a guy on many team’s radars.

2011 Prospect
NT, Baylor
6-3, 334, 40-yd dash - at his size, does it really matter?
Projection: 1st round
Ironically, the very thing that is pushing Taylor’s stock down could be what makes him available to the Jets. Normally a guy with his combination of size, strength and athleticism would get drafted in the top half of the first round but off the field issues and questions about his work ethic have pushed him down into the 20-32 area - he could fall right into the Jets’ lap.

2011 Prospect
OLB, Pitt
6-5, 265, 4.8-40
Projection: 3rd round
Romeus was one of the more decorated players in the Big East and had he come out last year as a junior, was projected to be a first rounder. But after back surgery early in 2010 and ACL surgery in November (costing him his season) there are valid doubts about his durability. That is why he is expected to come off the board in the 3rd-4th round range because if you evaluate him on his play on the field, he is a top tier prospect.

2011 Prospect
DE, Wisconsin
6-6, 290, 4.8-40
Projection: 1st round
You have to be impressed with this guy’s production: 2009: 44 tackles, 15.5 TFL, 4.5 sacks, 2 FR, 5 PBU, 1 blocked field goal. 2010: 62 tackles, 21 TFL, 7 sacks, 3 FF, 2 FR, 1 INT, 9 PBU, 1 blocked FG, 2 blocked PAT. It says a lot about a prospect when his production goes up each year in college and the arrow is certainly pointing up for Watt.

2011 Prospect
NT, Hampton
6-5, 345, 5.1-40
Projection: 3rd round
Kris Jenkins was unable to stay healthy and played in all of 7 games over two seasons for the Jets so it was no surprise when the team released him. Sione Pouha really stepped up his game when Jenkins went down last year but at 32 he is not the long term answer.

2011 Prospect
WR, Maryland
6-1, 205, 4.37-40
Projection: 2nd round
Since Santonio Holmes, Braylon Edwards and Brad Smith will all be free agents, it is no sure thing that the Jets will bring all three back. If that is the case, they will be looking to draft another receiver and Smith would be a great pick.

2011 Prospect
OLB, Purdue
6-4, 265, 4.7-40 Projection: 1st Round
Kerrigan is already one of my favorite prospects in this draft. He has excellent lateral agility, balance and body control. He is smart, instinctive, has good awareness and locates the ball quickly.
